Based on the Poetry and Photography series. These images were made from Emily Dickison's poems and letters.
F1278 (1873) / J1272 (1873)
Three manuscripts, with different variations with respect to each other as well as an internal variation in the first.
The poet tries to talk about Death.
A peaceful death, without too many regrets for the things that appear so important to us, almost manages to transform anguish into jealousy for that attitude in the face of something so difficult to rationally accept.
On the one hand it can be read as a sort of admiration for those who can peacefully accept death, on the other as an underlining of this attitude as an exception, in the face of something that deprives us of the most dear things and an unknown place that nobody of us aspires to visit with particular urgency.
The printing of the scarves is carried out with natural water-based dyes that do not contain toxic substances harmful to the environment.
The technique used for printing on synthetic fabrics is "Dye Sublimation", which allows the dyes to penetrate deeply into the fibers of the fabric ensuring a brilliant and luminous yield that does not fade even after many washes.
